While members of our team and IĀ continue to accumulate training rosters - now up over 5,400 growers - there is so much actual training going on in Zambia. The cover photo today is from Petauke. It is our pastor parter/trainer, Vincent and 25 growers he is training BEFOREĀ the training so they can be leaders during the training process. As we work hard to lift of our African SISTERS, IĀ love to see this group of leaders appears to be more than 50% women. It is truly amazing to me how much valuable knowledge is being passed around Zambia this growing season!
Here in America, we finished October very strong. Some terrific general fund donations helping us continue doing what we do every month, and another donation for inputs. Since we learned we likely WON'T yet be able to get our growers into the government input program, I have tasked our team in Zambia to help us form the most effective plan possible to get as much help as possible this growing season to the growers who are receiving the training but are going to struggle to actually put the training into action because they can't afford inputs. We will likely not be able to help every grower, but we will definitely help some. That inputs fund is now over $25,000 and climbing as we enter the home stretch. Thanks so much to those that have contributed or are considering contributing to that effort. In prior years, when we have given seed AND fertilizer to growers for one small plot, the cost was around $100 each. Using that math, we have collected enough to impact 250 of the vulnerable members of our communities that would otherwise struggle. The hope is as that fund grows, we will come up with a plan to spread it around a bit and help as many as possible.
Now we turn the calendar to a new month. Something that is celebrated every month by Africans and accountants everywhere. In November we will hope, once again, to impact over 3,400 families in their food insecurity as just our baseline of operation. Ā All the training, another clean water project, and an entirely new project being planned for 2026 are going on in the background. But our hungry brothers and sisters are being fed month in and month out. JESUSĀ is being fed month in and month out. Largely thanks to the now 33 friends and family here in America that are sharing monthly. Thank you so much to that amazing group!!!
I know so many of our African leaders read the blog weekly. To all of you IĀ just encourage you to keep up the good work!! Keep learning. Keep teaching. Keep loving our brothers and sisters in your care. We are doing our best here in America to assist you.
